The Cauldron
Fifteen cinematic sequences exploring the opening chapter of the proposed supernatural television series.
These AI-generated visualisations are intended as a proof of concept for episode one of The Cauldron. They are not presented as finished broadcast footage, but as an atmospheric guide to the proposed series’ tone, visual language, character relationships, locations, and supernatural mood.
The fifteen sequences below are designed to help potential sponsors, producers, collaborators, and creative partners imagine how the opening episode could unfold on screen: from Owen Winter’s return, to the first signs of occult danger, to the formation of The Crows and the looming threat of The Magpies.
Sequence 01
Owen is on a gap year abroad when he has a vision of his Grandmother. He has always been reluctant to believe that his destiny is to take over his Grandmother's coven. Returning to Wales for her funeral he will have to confront the expectations of friends and family.
Sequence 02
Owen will be taking a place at Nant Cerid University in mid-Wales. We realise straight away that there's something different and unsettling about the town.
Sequence 03
At the Fresher's fair we meet Oliver, computer genius, Cystal, Cheerleader and Goth girl Lucy. All destined to play important roles in the fight against evil.
Sequence 04
Owen meets his old girlfriend at the university. Later Cerys berates him for wasting his time on her when he should be looking for the cauldron.
Sequence 05
Rowan and Prometheus are the principals of the Magpies, a dangerous group practicing occult rituals.
Sequence 06
The Magpies recruit from the student body, promising powers to attract whatever they desire. This often ends badly for the new recruits.
Sequence 07
Owen and his friends are already known to the Magpies so they seek to persuade Crystal to infiltrate as she is not known to them. Later Cerys tells Owen he's a fool to put Crystal in danger.
Sequence 08
Crystal finds herself in mortal danger when she tries to infiltrate the Magpies.
Sequence 09
Owen, Cerys and Lucy race to find Crystal and their Land Rover skids off the road when hit by a bird. They get to the site of the ceremony and Owen grabs Crystal and gets her out of danger. It's all too easy though as if the Magpies want her to get away.
Sequence 10
Owen interupts anothe ceremony at the Magpies HQ. Rowan drags him into the library to confront him.
Sequence 11
The six members of the Crows are confirmed with some members less than enthusiastic but it's not safe for them to leave.
Sequence 12
Owen and Cerys discuss their fears for themselves, their friends and Nant Cerid. Van Helsing takes a keen interest knowing he will also have a role to play.
Sequence 13
We meet Owen's long time mentor, Vlahos, for the first time. His words are not encouraging.
Sequence 14
The episode ends with the arrival of Maya, Rowan's niece. Maya will play a significant part in attacking the Crows.
