NOTTING HILL |
| Saw it on a plane. It was not as dreadful as I expected. In fact it was
better than many other Brit films that have received absurdly inflated
critical comments (you know I mean Weddings, Not the Full Monty, Carry On
Shakespeare in Love). Hugh Grant is funny and endearing. I actually
managed to find Julia Roberts attractive for once (must be the oxygen
deprivation they subject you to on planes). There are several irritating
minor comic roles which the film could do without. To compensate it also
features the gorgeous Gina McKee, enough reason for anyone to watch the
film.
